MathFest 2009

Twelve YSU mathematics students attended the summer annual meeting of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) and Pi Mu Epsilon (PME) in Portland, Oregon on August 5-8.  All students gave oral presentations on a variety of topics in mathematics. All these students gave very good presentations, and four students received awards for outstanding talks. This marks the fifth consecutive year that YSU students have won four or more speaking awards. No other school has ever won more than 3 awards in any single year.
